One-on-One Personal Training

Designer Fitness and Wellness Center is dedicated to helping you achieve your goals during your exclusive, one-on-one training sessions. It's just you and your trainer, with no distractions to interrupt or interfere with your progress.

This means that you are able to concentrate on the individually-tailored workout that your trainer has created for your needs and goals. Your trainer stays with you every step of the way - demonstrating movements, inspiring you, answering your questions, monitoring your progress, and adjusting your workout as your needs change and your ability increases.

During your training sessions, you have complete and exclusive access to state-of-the-art training equipment. In addition, your trainer adjusts the studio environment to suit your tastes, from lighting and temperature to music selection and volume.

This unique and secure training experience helps you devote all your attention and energy to your workout. You stay focused, motivated, and energized. And, you will achieve results far beyond your expectations in less time than you ever dreamed possible.

In-Home Personal Training

Whether your home is equipped with basic strength training equipment or you need Designer Fitness and Wellness to supply your equipment, our personal trainers will train you within the comfort of your own home.

Research show that 30% of all PGA Golfers and 62% of recreation Golfers are playing injured.  Golfers spend thousands of dollars on balls, clubs, and gear to gain an advantage.  But the problem is not the gadgets - it is the golfer!

Before you invest in another club or gadget, invest in your body!

If you want hit the ball further…

Then a golf strength training program should be high on your agenda!

Every level of player wants to add 30-50 yards to their drives. Every golfer wants to start and finish each 18 holes without the all-too-common aches and twinges.  And no golfer wants to be injured.

Strength, power, flexibility, balance, core stability, body awareness, even endurance... they're all physical traits that every consistent golfer must possess.

Longer Drives

The key to lengthening your shots is to increase the amount of force you can generate, which in return, increases club head speed.

A golf conditioning program will increase your distance with every club.  Far more so than spending hours on the practice tee trying to swing faster and harder.

Reducing Injury

Any similar explosive movement repeated over and over will train and condition some muscles whilst others are neglected.

It only takes a few weak muscles to cause postural changes over time that weaken them further and so on in a downward spiral, until the result is chronic pain and over-use injury.

If you focus on restoring an optimal balance in strength, flexibility and endurance, there's no reason why you can't play pain-free golf for the rest of your life.

Pre/Post Natal Fitness

Over recent years, attitudes to health, well-being and exercise have changed greatly. As a result, women are maintaining their active lifestyles throughout pregnancy and into the post-birth period and are therefore requesting exercise programs specific to their requirements. We are confident to offer a pre and post natal service which will enhance self-esteem, health and lifestyle.

We would like to stress that pregnancy is not the time to begin a strenuous fitness regime. Research suggests that a good level of fitness before and during pregnancy can contribute to improved wellbeing, both physically and emotionally. If you are a regular exerciser, you can continue your program, with modifications, to accommodate the physiological changes that are taking place.

Research continues to support that exercise during pregnancy can be beneficial. Pregnant women who exercise:

· Have fewer backaches

· Have better circulation of blood to the extremities

· Return to pre-pregnancy weight sooner

· Enjoy an enhanced body image

The training concentrates on core stability and the body image perception of the Mother-to-be and the new Mother. The team is led by qualified Personal Trainers that are certified in pre and post-natal fitness, and are sensitive to the needs of our pre and post-natal clients.

Active Adults

There is no doubt that your body changes as you age. Some believe you can control everything in your body if you eat healthy and exercise. Maintaining physical fitness and a healthy body weight can lessen the deleterious effects of aging.

One of the reasons we gain weight as we age is lack of physical activity. There are things out of our control, like hormones, certain diseases, injuries etc. Exercise can help your body in many positive ways.

Exercise is particularly beneficial to the cardiovascular system. Heart disease is the leading source of mortality in older adults. Try taking a walk each day. You will burn calories, get fresh air (if outdoors), exercise your muscles, exercise your heart and exercise your joints and ligaments.

Increasing your physical activity can make you stronger. When you strengthen your muscles, you strengthen your bones too. The risk of falls and frailty is reduced when one has strong muscles, strong bones and good flexibility. Fractures, especially in the hip, can seriously affect the quality of life. These fractures can sometimes lead to a loss of independent living.

At Designer Fitness and Wellness Center we are educated in the field to work with Active Adults. From the onset of our program we will complete an extensive Health History and communicate with your physician to understand your current state of health and exercise limitation if any. This allows us to maximize your safety and your exercise results.

Youth Fitness

Obesity in children has reached epidemic levels. Experts estimate that 16% of kids are overweight and another 15% are at risk of becoming overweight. And two thirds of these overweight kids will become overweight adults. (http://pediatrics.about.com). There are many underlying factors that may contribute to childhood obesity including genetics, diet, physical inactivity, psychological problems, and other health issues.

Everyday we are bombarded by the reports that today's youth are less fit and have more body fat than their peers even ten years ago. Are these reports really true or are kids today just growing faster and larger than ever before? It is a fact that today’s youth are less fit than ever before, but, fortunately, it isn't a problem that we are doomed to accept.

Exercise and fitness are important for all children and youth. Fitness for children and youth includes resistance training (also called weight or strength training), cardiovascular training, and flexibility. Being physically active can encourage the maintenance of a healthy weight, increased bone density and increased core strength and stability. It also promotes cardiovascular and muscular endurance as well as social, psychological, and emotional growth.
